What it is
A daily standup is a 15-minute check-in where each person says what they did yesterday, what they'll do today and what's blocking them. Anything that needs a longer talk goes to the parking lot and gets picked up by the people involved after the call. Written notes help the people who couldn't join.
When to use it
- Daily check-ins for a small product or engineering team
- Remote teams across time zones who post updates in writing
- Short projects where blockers need to surface the same day
How to use it
- 01
One heading per person
Each person writes their three lines before the call. The meeting is for questions, not reading aloud.
- 02
Use the parking lot
If a topic runs over two minutes, move it there with the names of who will talk after.
- 03
Mention blockers
Use @ to link the ticket or page that's blocked, so the context is one click away.
- 04
Start tomorrow fast
Save as template once, then each day starts with the names already in place.
