Personal budget template

Every income and expense for the month with category and date, grouped so you see where money goes.

10 database rows

This is the page you get. Every block and row is editable.

What it is

A personal budget here is a list of every income, expense and saving for the month, each with an amount in euros, a category and a date. Group it by category and you see where the money goes. Mark recurring items so you know which costs come back next month without asking.

When to use it

  • You get to the end of the month and don't know where the money went
  • You're saving for something and want to see progress
  • You share costs with a partner or flatmate

How to use it

  1. 01

    Add this month's items

Start with the recurring ones (rent, salary, subscriptions) and tick Recurring. Then add the rest as they happen.

  2. 02

    Group by category

The board view puts each category in a column. A long Eating out column says more than any chart.

  3. 03

    Filter what matters

Add a filter for Type is Expense to see only spending, or Recurring is checked to see fixed costs.

  4. 04

    Start next month

Save the page as a template, then remove the one-off items in the copy.
